haha

this is great, nostalgic, and very trippy....

i just got one complaint....

the lead is a bit loud, you mighta wanted to mix it so that it wasnt so...boomy i guess...in comparision to the rest, although its not 2 bad

other then that.....

Alexman159 responds:

thankyou for actually reviewing and not just putting i liked it

Dnb is tough i no

im a big fan of DnB so im gonna wrtie while i listen...

ooo like the beginning, rly ominous...drums r comming in, theyre alright, not much to say....but then that other sound comes in, sounds like water dripping, or rather someone pissing...then another synth comes in...only drums...pussing and other synth enter again....ummm songs almost over and this isnt rly going anywhere....you dont rly change the beat up too much, just extend the fills a bit rly basiclly.... and then just drums at the end...

man this was alright, but i have a couple problems with it...

mainly... it doesnt rly go anywhere, the synth generally serve only as noise rather then introduce a melody, and then when the melody synth enter, its a bit hard to follow and doesnt introduce a...good(idk maybe i should say comprehensible or interesting) melody.....

id say add another lead, you got a nice progession, work off of that.. and also change the drums...the third time i heard the song they begin to stand out more and more.... i realize how hard it is to make DnB when i score you

ExceptionalPants responds:

Thanks, I'll look for better ways to score loops and synths in the future. I was sort of working on impulse with most of this stuff, because I seem to ruin stuff I think over too much.

nice

course im sure u realize its rly short...

but damn thats a nice tone, howd u record that??? direct input or with a mic??
i rly like that effect at 15....

sounds great...your voice is kinda weak, i can hear ur struggling for some of the higher pitches, but w/e it doesnt matter, it sounds pretty cool

NickSandwich responds:

Yup like the title says I'm just provin I'm still alive. I'm working on getting a better vocal tone before I release the whole track. I should really get a teacher...=p YouTube videos only go so far lol.
I recorded the bass geet's D.O. due to my lack of a bass amp, but I mic'd the lead and rhythm geets thru my Mesa.

interesting...

it was pretty coo;, i like how when the main beat kicks in your got the heavier "justice" esque bass part playing along with the mellow melody....

however, the beginning is a little strange, its messing with my ear, as if you have two parts playing the root of each chord, or at least theyre supposed to, but actually they arent correctly in tune and sound rly dissonant...

let me no if anyone else hears that

Ookami-Kun responds:

I assure you that all synth voices are exactly how I intended them to sound ;)

Dissonance can be an important part of music, in setting the mood etc. - this harmony is imperfect for a reason. :)

nice man

thats trippy as balls per se....lol

i recommend you invest in some new programs, like reason or logic or something...

i can c you have a talent for making ambient music, and fruity loops will eventually hold you back...

dont get me wrong you can make great music with FL, but with Reason for example, making trippy music is easy as pie.... so long as you have a keyboard of course....

but nah good job, ima gonna go smk then listen and c what i think...

tijnn responds:

I knów what reason can do, and i'll tell you, the difference between reason and FL with good VST's is minimal. Secondly, Reason has a lot of things that are just already done for you. It's a little too pre-setted for me.

But that's my opinion, opinions about programs seem to differ a lot anyways.

Thanks for the review though!

not my thing

gotta admit not a fan, some thing about how the sample sound rly shitty and in general the mix kinda sucks dick

umm

cute... but it goes absolutly no where, im sure it has meaning to u but from an objective point of view, this is pretty bland, sry.... dynamics would help alot

ObsidianSnow responds:

I know what you're trying to say... You're right, certainly. However, the reason I've kept it the way it is is because I intended it as a game loop. I tried to do a little more with the phrasing to make it go someplace, but it just kept sounding wrong. As for dynamics, the piano was acting up a bit for some reason. It was being super sensitive to all the automations and would jump dynamics too quickly - In the end it just sounded better this way... Perhaps I'll recreate this one after I get an electric keyboard - it sounds better when I play it personally.

Thanks a bunch for your review, Adachiskindagod!

nice

who sings the vocals?

broove responds:

Vocals are from Zippora - See the sun

Trippy

Im gonna use the catch phrase:

"that's trippy as balls"

to describe this

btw i think the masterings a bit weird, not 2 bad tho

LucreOnBeats responds:

There really isn't any mastering involved. I mixed maybe one or two things and left the rest of the song as is because it sounds great on my speakers.

arg me mateyy

lol pirate esque, btw if u use fl stufio, ur always gonna be limited with how much you can do

Step responds:

Actually I find FL Studio really great and easy to use. I don't see what you mean by limited :S. Anyway, thanks for the review :).
